Carie Brinton, LMFT

I am a licensed psychotherapist with additional certifications in addiction recovery and an innovative treatment modality called EMDR (link). I work with a variety of client issues however, my specialties are: anxiety, past and current trauma work, life transitions and addiction recovery.

With support and compassion I assist Clients in exploring their thought patterns, beliefs and attitudes that may be keeping them "stuck" and feeling unhappy. Together we re-discover an authentic self that may have gotten buried over the years. Life can pile on quite a bit! We commonly build defenses to stay safe but often we find, they are no longer effective. My comprehensive approach incorporates looking at all aspects of the person and how they relate to their present environment. Finding new ways to reduce stress, heal from the past and move more freely through life appears to be the goal of many Clients. With this in mind I work with my Clients towards shedding struggles, enhancing self-esteem, and experiencing a refreshed sense of self.

I enjoy working collaboratively with Clients. With their permission I guide them into a deeper place, where they become open to realizing the answers that lie within.
